The Montezuma Public Library is provides a variety of materials and services to residents, including access to books, audio books, videos, DVD's, music, computers and educational classes. A generous gift by the Paul Machledt family provided for the renovation of a builiding which now houses the town's public library and police station. The dedication plaque is pictured above. The Montezuma Public Library is located at 270 Crawford Street, P.O. Box 70, Montezuma, IN, 47862. The phone number is (765) 245-2772. Its hours of operation are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12pm to 5pm; Thursdays 12pm to 7pm; Saturdays 9am to 12pm. Computer classes are scheduled several times a year. Call the library at (765) 245-2772 to inquire. Summer Reading Program for all ages is held in June. Prizes are given based on the number of pages read by school children. Games, crafts and programs are held during this time. Teens and adults can enter a drawing for prizes. Borrowing Policy: All residents of Reserve Township are entitled to borrowing priveleges. The Montezuma Public Library is a township library, which means that the residents of the township pay a library tax. Resdients of other library taxing districts in Indiana can be granted a reciprocal library card, provided that no fees are owed in their district. Residents of other areas may borrow from the Montezuma Library by paying a yearly fee. A state-wide library fee is available by paying the Reserve Township Tax or yearly fee plus the state fee. Out of township fee for library card is $35. State-wide library card fee is $30 plus applicable tax or township fee. |
