Bellmore, Marshall, Mecca and Montezuma Volunteer Fire Departments
recently held Live Fire and Auto Extrication Training at the Mecca Auto
Salvage Yard. Eighteen firefighters, EMTs, and First Responders used
various types of auto extrication tools, acquiring first hand experience in
quick and efficient rescue methods. Firefighters practiced the use of SCBA's in safely fighting auto fires with the use of Class B Foam.

The department routinely trains with other local departments for fire and
rescue missions as well as missions involving hazardous materials and CSEPP*, ensuring emergency
preparedness.
