Montezuma's Fire Department is strictly volunteer and is funded by Reserve Township, the Town of Montezuma, the ladies auxiliary and fund-raising events held throughout the year.

The department is comprised of twenty-five members, both male and female.  The department makes first-responder runs, fire and rescue runs, water rescue runs and participates in search parties.

The average number of runs per year is 140.
